Nigeria’s army said it had repelled an attack on Monday by suspected Boko Haram militants on the city at the centre of the conflict with the Islamist insurgency.
Major General Nicholas Rogers, who heads Nigeria’s military operations against Boko Haram, told Reuters that the situation in Maiduguri, in the northeast of Nigeria, was under control. He did not give further details.

Nigeria's displaced population is rising, no thanks to increase in conflict, vi0lence and recently flooding challenges that have continued unabated especially in Northeastern Nigeria.
According to a 59-page report by #HumanRightsWatch, more than one year after Borno state authorities began shutting down #IDPCamps in the state capital, Maiduguri, displaced persons have been left without adequate support for food, shelter and security.

Police teargassed RevolutionNow protesters who stormed Ikeja area of Lagos state on Wednesday, 5 August, in a commemoration of their days of rage campaign from 2019.
The protesters were forced to take refuge inside the Computer Village before regrouping and resisting the fierce police officers.
As soon as the police officers noticed that the protesters were unyielding, they resorted to handpicking the protesters and pushing them into their waiting trucks.

The 25 billion dollars budget as approved by the nation's parliament was assented to by the President on wednesday.
