Amid global economic headwinds, remittance to Nigeria and other countries in Sub-Saharan Africa has reached $53 billion in 2022 that’s according to the World Bank report.
This represents an increase of 5.2 per cent ($53 billion) in 2022, compared with 16.4 per cent in 2021.
The report noted that remittances, as an important source of household income for most Low and Middle-Income Countries has help to be able to survive harsh economic conditions such as the Covid-19 pandemic, alleviate poverty and improve nutritional outcomes.
