Peace Malleni is the Owner and Designer of Malleni Designs. She is Ugandan, born in Kampala. From a young age she has loved clothes, shoes and accessories. She is not a formally trained designer.
Peace is a trained lawyer who has worked for the United Nations in Sierra Leone and Arusha, Tanzania for the last 7 years. However, fashion has always been her passion, and at the end of her contract with the United Nations she decided to make her fashion designing dream a reality.
Ms. Malleni began to design for her herself, family and friends as a way to channel her creative energy, and has gradually created a line that embodies her vision of style while exquisitely showcasing traditional Ugandan and African influences. Malleni Designs maintain an edge and effortless sophistication, intended to be timeless.
Malleni Designs creates designs for both female and male professional executives by day, and for vibrant, urban fun-lovers by night and weekends. The brand's designs are meant for those who are not afraid to make a statement. Malleni Designs already has a following of clients who are delighted to own the well-fitted, colourful and beautifully designed garments. The brand mixes different fabrics and textures, such as African prints with silk, chiffon, lace, leather, and linen, to create a stunning fusion effect.

Tanzania has a rich cultural heritage that is reflected in its traditional clothing. Some of the most popular men's clothing styles in Tanzania include:
Dashiki - This is a loose-fitting, brightly colored tunic that is often worn with a matching pair of pants. Dashikis are typically made from cotton or silk and feature intricate embroidery and designs.
Kanzu - The Kanzu is a long, flowing robe that is typically made from cotton or linen. It is often worn with a traditional headscarf known as a kofia.
Kitenge - This is a type of fabric that is commonly used to make men's shirts and pants in Tanzania. Kitenge fabrics are known for their bright colors and bold patterns.
Safari Jacket - This is a lightweight, khaki-colored jacket that is often worn by men on safari or outdoor expeditions. It is typically made from cotton or canvas and features multiple pockets for storing gear.
Maasai Shuka - The Maasai Shuka is a brightly colored blanket that is worn as a wraparound skirt by Maasai men in Tanzania. It is often made from wool or cotton and features bold patterns and stripes.
In recent years, Tanzanian fashion designers have also begun to incorporate Western styles into their designs, creating a fusion of traditional and modern clothing. Some of the popular fashion designers in Tanzania include Mustafa Hassanali, Jamil Walji, and Khadija Mwanamboka.

1. ZIGUA TRIBE
🇹🇿 CALF INTESTINES: Clean and braid the intestines. Combine with the tripe. In a big pot, add the intestines and cook for 10 minutes. Add salt, water and lime.
🇹🇿 LIVER: Clean and chop liver. In a small pot, add liver. Add salt and ginger. Stir. Hang the meat overnight.
🇹🇿 BBQ MEAT: Cover meat with salt. Cut a slits in the legs. Add ginger, garlic and lime juice. Rub sauce on meat.
🇹🇿 MANDAZI: Pour in wheat flour and add sugar. Mix. Add sunflower oil and mix. Add yeast and mix. Add warm water and mix. Knead into a ball. Roll out and cut into shapes. In a wok, add sunflower oil and fry.
🇹🇿 TEA: Boil water, add tea grass, ginger and sugar.
🇹🇿 RICE CAKE: In a bowl, pour rice flour, wheat flour and corn porridge. Add sugar, yeast and warm water and mix.
🇹🇿 PORRIGE: In a wood vessel, add soaked corn and pound into corn powder. Sieve. In a pot, add water and corn powder. Cook for about 20 minutes. Add salt and continue stirring.
🇹🇿 PILAU: In a pot, add chopped beef and cook. In a separate pot, add oil, red onion, mix. Add ground ginger and garlic mix. Add ground spices (cardamom, cinnamon, and cumin). Add meat and mix. Add salt. Add water

The three-day fashion extravaganza brought together fashion and accessory designers from the East and Central Africa region and beyond. CGTN's Daniel Kijo with more.

The Maasai Lodge Tanzania is located between Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru and is surrounded by a 200-hectare nature- and game-reserve. The lodge based on 100 % sustainable tourism and is run by Maasai. An ideal place for peace seekers as well as nature and culture lovers.
The sustainable bungalows have solar-powered light and hot water. Each is equipped with a side table, wardrobe and Maasai-style seating. The modern bathroom includes a rain shower and flushing toilet.

Mwanza is a port city on the shore of Lake Victoria, in northern Tanzania. It's ringed by green hills. They city is known for unusual rock formations like Bismarck Rock, near the Kamanga Ferry Terminal. In the center of town are colonial buildings like the crumbling hilltop Dr. Robert Koch's House. The 1935 Indian Public Library, mosques and Hindu temples reflect Indian influence. The Makoroboi area is full of shops.

These are the Wonunguli, traditional snake dancers, and part of the Zigua Tribe in Tanzania.
My Tanzanian friend Gumbo sent me a few videos of men doing stunts with animals. Some putting them in thier mouths, some dancing, some running... with poisonous snakes. I thought this was one of the craziest things I've ever seen in my life. I had to learn more.
