❌Breakage is not normal ❌

✅Shed hair can be normal so long as it is not excessive ✅

If you cannot see the hair root/bulb (looks like a white bulb at the top of the hair shaft) the hair has broken mid way.

To stop excessive breakage try this custom detangling routine that takes into consideration the fragile nature of our hair:

🌱Section hair into at least 4 -prevents
overwhelm and will allow you to better handle knots!
🌱Saturate with water - this will moisturise your hair and make it a lot easier to manage( dry afro hair is even more fragile!)
🌱Apply @OminiraNaturals “Tangle Slayer” liberally to your strands root to tip - this extreme slip detangling conditioner will soften your hair so it feels like silk, glides through your fingers; cutting your detangling time by half and eradicate unnecessary breakage.
🌱Finger detangle gently - your fingers are the best thing when it comes to your hair, combs are great but always use your hands first! Work in even smaller sections to gently remove the knots, TAKE YOUR TIME! The purpose of a comb/brush is not REALLY to detangle hair, it is to REMOVE shed hair. Finger detangle first ALWAYS.
🌱Rewet each individual smaller section to reactivate the conditioner this is important.
🌱Cut out any single strand knots (SSKs) with a pair of hair scissors/shears (not kitchen scissors!) - this will prevent you from trying to comb through them and cause further breakage.
🌱DO NOT OVER-DETANGLE - Our hair type is naturally intertwined and prone to tangles so it is impossible to remove every single one in its entirety. Have you noticed that as soon as you remove tangles, a few new ones form? So don’t stress yourself, work to get your hair to a point where it is a lot more manageable (no deep rooted knots) and leave it there. There is no need to try to get a comb through it snag free every time like typical straight hair, that is just something our hair can never achieve (and that’s ok!)
🌱Only detangle when ABSOLUTELY necessary - typically only on wash days to prevent over manipulation. The less manipulation, the better.

⚡️BONUS TIPS⚡️
✨If you have High Porosity hair, try to do a PRE-POO with oil for a few hours or over night. This will protect your fragile hair and prevent protein loss in the wash day process
✨When taking down protective styles like
braids/twists there will be a-lot of build up, so gently finger detangle each and every braided/twisted section BEFORE you wet your hair. If you apply water on hair like this it will matt up and cause further breakage.
✨If your hair is tangling unnecessarily and more than usual, it could be a sign you need a trim, don’t avoid these without proper trims your hair could split all the way up to your scalp and be rendered usless!

SUMMARY
-Start washing your hair by applying shampoo to your palms first and only then to your wet hair. Don't forget to use a hair conditioner and rinse your hair with warm and then with cold water.
-Place the blow dryer 6 inches away from your scalp, moving from the roots to the ends for an additional volume. It's better to start with the back of your head and side sections.
-People with oily hair type should avoid touching their hair and oil massages, as it will make the situation worse. If your hair is dry, it is advisable to have a hot oil massage from time to time and avoid everyday shampooing, as it will make your hair even drier.
-Remember, up to 338°F is a great temperature for thin hair when you use a curling iron. From 338 to 392°F is preferable for normal hair, and from 392 to 446°F is better for thick hair.
-The best hair straightener heat temperature is also connected to the hair type - up to 338°F for thin hair and from 338 to 446°F for thick hair.
-Avocado oil, argan oil, coconut oil and jojoba oil all have their numerous advantages, but most importantly they soften, nourish and moisturize your hair.
-Hair masks help your hair get everything that they need and get healthier. Different masks work for different hair types.
-Vitamin C improves blood circulation in the scalp and stimulates hair growth. Omega-3 is also great, as it slows down the aging process and keeps the immune system strong. Vitamin A stimulates cells regeneration and slows down the aging process.
-If you have light hair, say yes to peach, olive, jojoba, avocado and coconut oil, and no to castor oil. The beauties with dark colored hair should use olive or apricot kernel oil for maintaining the hair color and essential oils of citrus fruit for making hair shine.
-In the cold seasons, it's important to protect our hair and use a blow dryer at a low temperature. In the warm seasons, you'll still need to wear a hat and sun protection products to prevent all the possible damages that UV rays of the sun might cause to your hair.
