Ahead of the reopening of the 11th parliament, opposition parties in Lesotho are up in arms, accusing the new government of failure to deliver the most basic services, while crime and corruption are at their peak.

Several private media and online outlets in Guinea have staged a news blackout in protest against a crackdown imposed by the ruling military.
That comes as tensions have risen between the army and the opposition in recent weeks.
The military overthrew President Alpha Conde in 2021 and has promised a transition to civilian rule by the end of 2024, but the long wait has frustrated civil society groups.

The Swaziland Solidarity Network is accusing King Mswati the third of killing renowned human rights lawyer and activist Thulani Maseko. Maseko was shot dead at his home in Luyengo, south of Mbabane in the Kingdom of Eswatini on Saturday night. He was also the chairperson of the pro-democracy Multi-Stakeholder Forum.
