The tournament was originally scheduled to be held in Côte d'Ivoire in 2021, but after the subsequent reshuffling of the hosts of several consecutive editions, the country will eventually host the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, which, contrary to its title, will take place in January and February 2024 (13 January - 11 February).

This will be the 34th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations and the second to be organised in Ivory Coast (the first time the country hosted the Africa Cup of Nations was in 1984). For the third time, 24 teams will take part in the tournament. The hosts were guaranteed participation, with the remaining teams selected in qualifiers that began on March 23, 2022 and concluded on October 17, 2023. There will be no debutants among the qualified teams. The title will be defended by Senegal. Check out all 6 stadiums that will host the tournament.
