6th SciCom Colloquium: Framing COVID-19 in the South African news media.

The 6th SciCom Colloquium was presented by Dr Corlia Meyer, based on the paper entitled Framing COVID-19 in the South African news media: An analysis of 22 months of reporting. Co-authored by Meyer and Dr Francois van Schalkwyk, the colloquium discusses findings of how South African print media has framed Covid-19-related news stories during the first two years of the pandemic.

Dr Corlia Meyer is a postdoctoral research fellow and holds a PhD in Science and Technology Studies from Stellenbosch University. Her research looks at environmental communications, particularly at how environmental campaigns alter how society perceives environmental and other social issues.
