Alisha states "growing up with psoriasis as an African-American definitely has some unique challenges. My psoriasis does not look like what is in the textbook and described in the textbook as characteristics of psoriasis. So usually people will say well psoriasis is red inflamed patches. Well for a person of color my plaques were not red, they were brown to a purple color".
