AFCON 2023 | Senegal start title defence with a win against Gambia

The defending champions, Senegal, started their title defence with a 3-NIL victory over the Gambia in a Group C opening match of the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast. After going to the break leading 1-NIL, the Teranga Lions scored twice in the second half to seal a 3-NIL victory against a ten-man Gambia and move to the top of Group C.
