Striking nurses and other health professional brought most services at Zimbabwe government hospitals to a grinding halt as workers rejected a 100 percent pay raise arguing it is inadequate amid skyrocketing inflation of 130 percent; Ethiopia suffers from the worst drought in the Horn of Africa in decades while residents of the Northern Afar region are being forced to use dirty river water.
