Reliable armed forces' power is necessary for any progressive state seeking to protect its borders and interests.
Global Fire Power is an organization that is widely known for having a fairly accurate understanding of the militaries in the world. Interesting findings from the organization reveals that Africa is a hotspot of power in the modern world. GFP concluded on this fact after assessing 138 nations, among them 24 from Africa.
These respectable troops are the reason why the continent (Africa) no longer welcomes exploiters as it was the case years back.
The following are factors that determine:
i) power index - the probability of changing an outcome of a vote where voting rights are not necessarily equally divided among the voter/shareholders
ii) man power - The number of members serving in the army unit
iii) air power - Total aircraft strength, fighters and interceptors, attack aircraft, transports, trainers, total helicopters, attack helicopters, and serviceable airports.
iv) army strength - Combat tanks, armored fighting vehicles, self-propelled artillery, towed artillery, and rocket projectors.
v) naval power - Presence of a powerful naval force

viii) natural resources - Oil production, oil consumption and proven oil reserves.
