The African Queen is a 1951 adventure/drama/romance directed by John Houston, set in the era of WWI. Humphrey Bogart is a grizzly, filthy captain of the African Queen, a steamboat that he uses to deliver supplies and mail in Africa. Kathryn Hepburn is doing missionary work with her brothers. Germans show up and burn down the village. Her brother becomes ill and dies. She departs with Bogart on his boat and the film takes off from there. It's a great film that at times makes you feel gritty and sweaty and thankful you aren't on a tiny steamship in Africa.
