The recent weekend witnessed the conclusion of the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) meeting. The path to hosting the AGOA Forum in South Africa, essential for securing an extension of the trade agreement set to expire in 2025, has at times proven challenging. However, last week, US President Joe Biden expressed his support for the renewal.
Ebrahim Patel, the Minister of Trade and Industry, contends that the Act should undergo revisions to better address the unique challenges faced by African nations.
