Ambitious Africa Gambia National Day launch

Ambitious Africa is introduced by Finland to bring African and Nordic youths together to elevate Africa. The inception of Ambitious Africa was brought about by the realization that Nordic core strengths of Education, Entrepreneurship, and Entertainment (3Es) could be harnessed to Africa to increase well-being and happiness.

Finland is world-renowned for its educational system which is mainly accredited to the high-quality education system. Ambitious Africa is on a mission to improve education in Africa by educating future educators, based on the Finnish education system but tailor-made for the specific nation.

The entrepreneurial aspect of Ambitious Africa comprises of young entrepreneurs in the Nordics that engage with the local young people in the member country to perform entrepreneurial non-profit initiatives. This is supported by a timely distribution fund that is set up like a Venture Capitalists structure with the main difference being that, the key metric is a tangible impact and non-profit. If a local project can defend its concept, it will be funded.

The parent organization goes beyond providing funding, to offering resources, expertise, networks with support from the community, experienced entrepreneurs, private sectors, and government. This partnership is successful when the community is filled with proactive young individuals that are ready to share knowledge. This initiative will not solely foster the relationship between Finland and The Gambia in terms of education and entrepreneurship, but it is posited to have a spill-over effect on the economic growth of The Gambia.
The Gambia national day was launch on the 20th of May 2020 organized by the Startup Incubator Gambia.
