Cabo Verde becomes 41st ACFTA state party to ratify agreement

Cabo Verde is now the 41st country to ratify the African Continental Free Trade Area.

The ACFTA aims to open up intra Africa trade by liberalising and creating a single market for goods, by removing the existing barriers to trade with the continent.

The progress of this continental flagship project for trade was discussed by the heads of state in the just concluded summit.

SABC correspondent Coletta Wanjohi spoke to Wamkele Mene, the Secretary-General of the African Continental Free Trade Area Secretariat.
