Carrefour supermarket brand opens 20th store in Kenya

Kenya and Uganda have provided a lucrative launching pad for Dubai-based Majid al Futtaim, the franchise holder of the Carrefour supermarket brand in the East African region. The retailer has expressed confidence that it will expand in the region, where South African retailers Shoprite, Game and Builders have been unable to crack and have folded in recent years.
