A crucial vote to end years of sectarian strife. The Central African Republic held a constitutional referendum on Sunday, in what was seen as a vital step towards restoring peace between Muslims and Christians. Any hopes of a smooth ballot was soon dashed when clashes erupted in the PK5 district of the capital Bangui.
