The Northern Consensus Movement of Nigeria has given the government a four-week ultimatum to compensate the families of Northerners who lost their lives in various security crises in the South. The group has threatened to block the transportation of foodstuffs from the North to the South if the government does not fulfil its promises to the victims' families.

Furthermore, the group has warned the federal government to compel Pan Yoruba nationalist Sunday Igboho to retract his threat, which called for all Nigerians of Fulani extraction to leave the Southern part of the country within ten days. They stated that the same measure would be applied to Yorubas living in the North.
