DR Congo - Rwanda tensions: Border trade hit by rise in violence • FRANCE 24 English
In the Democratic Republic of Congo, the last few days have seen a surge of violence in the territories of Masisi and Rutshuru in eastern North Kivu province. The clashes are pitting M23 rebels, who are backed by the Rwandan army, against the Congolese military and its allied militia groups. Local residents have reported hearing artillery fire. In the city of Goma, the fighting is impacting traders and hauliers, as FRANCE 24’s team on the ground reports.
