Ebira History Street Interview (Okene)

As Marcus Garvey famously wrote: “A people without knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots”.
It is at once a matter of conflict, doubt and uncertainty as to where Adayi EBIRA originated from before migrating to the current location.

With this in mind, we kick started our first and first of its kind of interview, by getting to explore the complexities of our root; knowing the history; how it all began with our forefathers from 'irayi roin roin'.

At Okene (where Okene will NEVER 'kene kene'), we took to the Street with a simple (but mind-blowing) question: "Izi adayi Ebira qu aza ani kuete hure ipapa"?...

From the responses; as captured in this video, it was tit for tat, as they were quite electrifying.

Our next interview promises to be more intriguing. We look to having Elders dazzle us with insights on the subject matter.
