ECOWAS leaders meet in Ghana to discuss the political situations in Mali, Burkina Faso and Guinea

Leaders of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) are meeting in Ghana's capital, Accra, to discuss the political situation in Mali, Burkina Faso and Guinea.

The three countries are being ruled by military leaders after the overthrow of their democratically elected Presidents.

ECOWAS wants the transitional authorities in the West African countries to fix a date to hold elections to return to civilian rule. SABC's correspondent, Nabil Ahmed Rufai reports from Accra.
