LSS Media worked with longtime client the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) to highlight an innovative public-private partnership to end mother-to-child transmission of HIV in Zimbabwe. EGPAF partnered with the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF) and Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Health and Child Care (MOHCC) to dramatically accelerate access to quality HIV and child survival services over a five-year period in the country.

LSS filmed for five days throughout Zimbabwe in urban and rural health care facilities and communities, and produced an 8-minute piece documenting the lessons learned from this groundbreaking initiative. Zimbabwe’s MTCT rate dropped from a record-high of 30% before the project, to approximately 6% in just five years. Zimbabwe is now on track to become one of the first countries in sub-Saharan Africa to virtually eliminate mother-to-child transmission of HIV.
