Elections 2024 | Reaction to announcement of election date

President Cyril Ramaphosa has announced that the 2024 General National and Provincial elections will take place on the 29th of May. The President has consulted with the Independent Electoral Commission on the election date and has convened a meeting with all 9 Provincial Premiers, and the IEC, to discuss the state of readiness. He also calls on all voters to fully participate in this important and historic milestone of South Africa's democratic calendar.
