Emergence of Gambian Literature

his video documentary deals with the emergence of literature in The Gambia. Much of Gambian literature is in the form of proverbs, songs, folktales, dirges, parables in our local languages. The earliest notifications in history we've got concerning written literature in English were the writings of Phillis Whitley. This marks the beginning of Gambian literature.
