Envisioning the Future of Mauritania -Nouakchott City Urban Master Plan Development Project

Since 2016, JICA has supported the formulation of a Development Masterplan on urban planning targeting 2040 for the City of Nouakchott in Mauritania. Along with the Masterplan, the project also formulated related policies, systems and guidelines that would facilitate the implementation of the Masterplan. Using the finalized Masterplan, it is expected that sustainable development will be realized in the development of the urban infrastructure of Nouakchott with thorough considerations towards social and economic efficiency and environment protection.
