The Masai Mara is a world-famous national nature reserve in Kenya, Africa, and a wildlife paradise of unmatched scale and beauty. It is best known for its safaris and exceptionally high concentration of lion, leopard, elephant, African buffalo, and cheetah, all co-existing in an incredibly beautiful area in Narok County. The Masai Mara is administered by the Narok County government. The more visited eastern part of the park known as the Masai Mara National Reserve is managed by the Narok County Council. Wildlife conservationists flock here every year to witness events such as the great wildebeest migration. This wilderness park was named after the Maasai people who are the area's ancestral inhabitants.
