The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has acknowledged that Uganda has made significant reforms in seven areas, including the adoption of a national Anti-Money Laundering law and Countering the Financing of Terrorism.

These reforms also encompass enhanced mutual legal assistance, maintaining statistics, and the development and implementation of risk-based supervision in the financial and designated non-financial businesses and professions sectors.

However, it's worth noting that major African economies like Nigeria and South Africa were added to the grey list earlier this year, in February. The status of Nigeria on the list is uncertain, and it remains to be seen if the country will be removed from the grey list based on any subsequent evaluations and reforms.
