The verdict in the trial of the wealthy son of Equatorial Guinea’s president is due in Paris on Friday morning. Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, ‘Teodorin’ for short, is accused of misusing taxpayers’ money back home to fund multi-million euro spending sprees in France. He denies the allegations and his lawyers say France is interfering in its former colony’s internal affairs.
