Genetic Research in Eating Disorders: A Primer for Clinicians

Published research on genetics of eating disorders can be dense and hard to read. It’s especially hard for clinicians who might be confronted by patients, parents, or partners who bring questions into the room in a quest to understand what the genetic research means for them today in their recovery journey. This talk will present up-to-date information on genetics research while focusing on how clinicians can incorporate genetic into their case conceptualizations and address patients’ and families’ questions about the role of genes and environment in illness risk and recovery.
