Governor Barasa and Senator Khalwale clash in Ikolomani as political rivalry plays out

Kakamega Governor Fernandez Barasa and Senator Bony Khalwale clashed at a funeral in Ikolomani as political rivalry played out. The two engaged in a war of words OVER their respective responsibilities in devolved government. Khalwale told governor Barasa to steer off the 2027 politics and instead complete the projects initiated by former governor Wycliffe Oparanya. In response, Gov Barasa told him off saying the senator’s role is oversight and not to direct him ON how to implement his manifesto.
