Has COSATU changed S.Africa's political future?

For years political scientists predicted the demise or split of the tripartite alliance and nothing happened. Then in a meeting called the night of the long knives, NUMSA was expelled from COSATU and days later seven other unions uncoupled themselves from the parent body. Tonight, Bruce Whitfield speaks to Dumisani Hlophe, CEO at Kunjalo Centre for Development Research and Prof Shadrack Gutto, director of the Centre for African Renaissance Studies, University of South Africa, to find out just how significant this event is.
