INFORMATION ABOUT THE COUNTRIES OF NIGERIA AND ZIMBABWE

NIGERIA
Archeological findings from the Nok Civilization show that present day Nigeria was inhabited in the 6th Century B.C. However,Very little is known about the region"s early history.
The foundation stone for the multicultural State of Nigeria was laid over one thousand years ago ,when the first recorded State to prosper in this part of Africathe Kanemborno Empire Was Established in the 8th Century A.D.
ZIMBABWE
Present day Zimbabwe was once inhabited by so called 'Bushmen' (San),who were forced out of the region by immigrating Bantu people in the first Century A.D. The latter's knowledge of farming,livestock breeding and Iron smelting formed the basis for the development of the shona Empire,Great Zimbabwe,which flourished from the 11th until the 15th Century. Although now in ruins,the Empire lent its name to the present Republic of Zimbabwe. Other important Empires include Mutapa Empire (mid 15th Century until mid 17th Century) And the Rozwi Empire,which prospered from the 18th until the mid 19th Century.
