In Webuye in Western Kenya, young men from the Luhya community undergo circumcision to mark their transition from boyhood to manhood. It's a controversial tradition that can cause health problems for its young initiates -- but it's a ritual now encouraged by modern-day doctors to prevent the spread of HIV. According to the World Health Organisation, circumcision cuts infection rates by 60 percent.
