Kenya sets up unit for marketing traditional beads to US, Europe

The beadwork industry in Kenya is becoming a hotpot for revenue in the country's north. The East African country now seeks to harness this market to boost earnings and wean the sector from a small local market based on tourism. One example is The Ushanga Kenya Initiative, which plans to transform the living standards of women from rural communities by providing access for their beads to international markets.
