At The Most Influential People of African Descent (MIPAD) Recognition and Awards Ceremony, following the opening of the 76th United Nations General Assembly in New York City, on Sunday 3rd of October, Dr Linus Okorie was awarded as one of The Most Influential People of African Descent in the 100 Under 40 Edition for his outstanding service and commitment to excellence.

The ceremony, which was sponsored by WarnerMedia News & Sports and hosted by Zain Asher of CNN, had in attendance young global leaders and prominent individuals amongst other high-profile nominees and honorees and was streamed to a global audience with live-viewing around the world in cities like Dubai, São Paolo, London and Lagos.

Other awardees in the 2021 list of The Most Influential People of African Descent include Alibaba Akpobome, Obi Asika, and other notable people transforming Africa and changing the African narrative. Speaking on the award, Dr Linus Okorie said, "I'm highly honoured to be named as one of the top 100 Most Influential People of African Descent by MIPAD. This award only serves to reignite the fire and zeal in me to build the leadership capacity of Nigerians and Africans because proper leadership is the true and final solution to the challenges we face in Africa."
