Mali political crisis | Africa Today

Mali, a country's with one of Africa's most famous civilizations, the Timbuktu civilization, has over the last decade been in the news for all the wrong reasons.

Most recently, the country has been hit by a wave of anti-government demonstrations with protestors demanding that the president resigns. Over the past few weeks, Mali has seen mass demonstrations calling for the resignation of President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita, who has struggled to stem rising takfiri terrorist attacks and inter-communal violence in northern and central parts of the country.
