"Growing up as a teenage Muslim girl, It was difficult getting modest wears that gave me confidence and as well meet the criteria of modesty in Islam.
The scarcity of affordable modest wears for our women made me develop interest in fashion designing in 2015 which makes me to enroll for fashion classes . I started my own brand in 2018 and since then I have been creating fashion apparels, headwears and accessories.
My name is Abdulmalik maryam omotayo ,I am the founder of Jewelstitches and collections,a fashion brand that creates exquisite designs for modest women in Africa.
In 2021,while we have identified the existence and growth of our brand ,we introduced our new ready to wear dresses, we also launched our website which has since then made shopping experience easier for our customers, thereby aligning with the SDG of industry,infrastructure and Innovation.
The grant will be utilized to purchase two industrial overlocking machine,three industrial sewing machine and a 12kva generator in order to increase the rate at which we produce by 25% in the next 12 month.
