The Maasai community in Kitengela, Kenya, needs help to maintain their traditions, their culture and their land ownership. Beading is an age-old tradition among Maasai women and these four young ladies have expanded their beading skills to include new designs, colors and items for the global market. The sale of these items at international craft and folk art markets will help to develop other, sustainable income-producing activities in the Kitengela community.
The designers are sponsored by ACACIA MOYO - WHERE TRADITION MEETS TECHNOLOGY. Learn more about us at www.acaciamoyo.org.
