Mozambique has assumed the Presidency of the United Nations Security Council for the month of March. The country assumed a two-year seat on the council earlier this year along with Ecuador, Japan, Malta, and Switzerland.
Maputo's envoy has told the press in New York that their month presiding over the council will focus on peace and security, countering terrorism and the question of silencing the guns in Africa.
