National anthem of the Ethiopian Empire (1930-1975)

“ኢትዮጵያ ሆይ ደስ ይበልሽ” (English: “Ethiopia, Be happy”, Amharic Romanization: “Ityoṗya hoy des ybelish”) is the national anthem of the Ethiopian Empire from 1930 to 1975

The music was composed by Kevork Nalbandian and the lyrics were written by Yoftahe Nigussie.

The anthem was adopted in 1930 and relinquished in 1975 after the overthrowing of emperor Haile Selassie in 1974 (the imperial government was in exile from 1974-1975)
