Niger coup supporters attack French embassy
Supporters of Niger's coup attacked the French embassy in Niamey on Sunday, setting fires outside its compound walls and smashing windows in a protest against Niger's former colonial power.

The demonstrations follow a coup that deposed Niger's president last week. West African nations imposed economic and travel sanctions on the country's new military leaders, threatening to use force if they fail to reinstate the ousted president, Mohamed Bazoum, within a week.
