Nigeria: Lagos Commuters Stranded as Commercial Drivers Protest Alleged Extortion

Thousands of passengers find themselves stranded at various bus stops and motor parks in Lagos State, Nigeria due to a protest staged by commercial drivers on Monday, November 13.

The drivers initiated the strike in response to the reported extortion imposed on their members by the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) and the State's Task Force. The ongoing protest is around Mangoro bus stop, Lagos State, with security officials from the state present at the scene.
