The Presidential Candidate of Nigeria's Labour Party, Peter Obi, has expressed his criticism of the Supreme Court's verdict on the 2023 general election. He asserted that the apex court had disregarded the substantial evidence presented to it.

Obi, during a press conference held on Monday, accused both the Supreme Court and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of altering the rules as the election's umpires. The Supreme Court's decision aligned with the verdict of the Presidential Election Petition Court from September 6 on all counts.

In its lead judgment, prepared and delivered by Justice Inyang Okoro, the apex court stated that there was no basis for Atiku/PDP and Obi/LP's petitions to annul the election results.
