Nigerian Doctors In The UK Face Exploitation, Illegal Conditions | The Conversation
It is estimated that at least 2,000 medical doctors leave Nigeria yearly and no fewer than 5,407 Nigerian trained doctors are currently working with the British National Health Service in the United Kingdom.
An investigation by BBC on Tuesday revealed that Nigerian doctors recruited by a British healthcare company are expected to work in private hospitals under conditions not allowed in the National Health Service #NHS.
While the British Medical Association (BMA) has described the situation as “shocking”, some of the hospitals denied the allegations.
Today on #TheConversation, we asked Doctors to talk about their experience working in the UK. #NigerianDoctorsInTheUK
