The Pre-hearing Proceedings of the Opposition Labour Party have been extended to May 19th by Nigeria's Presidential Elections Petition Tribunal in the nation's capital Abuja.

The tribunal was supposed to adopt documents and answers to questions raised in the petitioner's and respondent's applications, but this was not the case because counsel for the Labour Party candidate accused Nigeria's Electoral Commission of refusing to grant them access to inspect election materials.

This did not sit well with counsels representing the nation's Electoral Body, the ruling All Progressives Congress, and the President-elect, who accused the Labour Party team of refusing to follow established protocols and refusing to pay for the required paperwork.

The tribunal invited all parties to resolve their disagreements, react to concerns highlighted in the applications submitted, and agree on documents that would be tendered during the course of the proceedings before meeting again on Friday.
