Nigerian Police Arrest Nigerian Musician Seun Kuti over Assault on Policeman

In the early hours of Monday, Seun Kuti, son of late Afrobeat veteran Fela Kuti, surrendered to the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters in Ikeja. Kuti was accompanied by his lawyer and a family spokesperson.

This comes after the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, ordered the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, to arrest him over a video where he was seen assaulting a police officer in uniform.

Subsequently, the musician has been taken into custody.
