The Nigerian Senate approved the Niger Delta Development Commission's (NDDC) N876 billion budget for 2023. In addition, N451 million was allocated for the NDDC board members' assistants.

The budget also includes N576 million for the Office of the Chairman, Lauretta Onochie, with N156 million allocated for personnel costs, N312 million for administrative expenses, and N108 million for internal capital. The Managing Director's Office was allocated N546.597 million for personnel costs, N747.500 million for administrative expenses, and N163.504 million for internal capital.

The Commission's overall budget consists of N34,2 billion for personnel costs, N17 billion for administrative costs, N3.7 billion for internal capital expenditures, N490 billion for development initiatives, and N330 billion for the Federal government's intervention in the Niger Delta.
