Intense combat footage from Africa shows Nigerian soldiers storming Boko Haram positions after being heavy pinned down in an intense firefight.

The video was recorded by one of the soldiers cellphone and shows the Nigerian soldiers taking cover while being engaged with heavy machine gun fire and RPGs by Boko Haram fighters.

Despite their situation the Nigerian soldiers step up and begin to charge towards the enemy position through an open field.

While storming the soldiers can be heard saying repeatedly " We will catch them by hand! We will catch them by hand!"

A charge is an offensive maneuver in battle in which combatants advance towards their enemy at their best speed in an attempt to engage in a decisive close combat.

The charge is the dominant shock attack and has been the key tactic and decisive moment of many battles throughout history.

Modern charges usually involve small groups of fireteams equipped with weapons with a high rate of fire and striking against individual defensive positions (such as a concertainer or bunker), instead of large groups of combatants charging another group or a fortified line.

We recived more info about this firefight from a soldier who was there on that day and was willing to share more about this.

The fight with the militants lasted for about 4 hours. The soldiers requested air support from fighter aircraft but got Mi-35 Hind helicopter support instead later.

2 Nigerian soldiers were KIA druing the battle inwhich the Boko Haram /ISWAP militants used up to 20 gun trucks.

The battle was located in Malam Fatori a deserted place with no civilians.

Thanks to AR 9JA who provided the additional info for this battle.
