Nigerian Women in politics

Nigeria has the lowest number of female parliamentarians in Africa according to the UN. The country’s most prominent female presidential candidate, Oby Ezekwesili, abruptly dropped out of the race. And many female candidates struggle to make it past the party primaries. So why do Nigerian women have difficulty thriving in the political arena?
