Political party funding in South Africa Part 1

In South Africa, parties are allocated limited public funds through the proportional representation electoral system and are required to account for the expenditure. Interestingly, Matthew Phosa, former ANC Secretary General called for legislation that could significantly increase financial support for political parties but also, for the first time, force parties to reveal their sources of private funding.
